The yachts we use are Sigma's, a David Thomas design, built by Marine Projects in Plynouth. The 2 33 OOD's are named Silver Salmon and Sappho and owned by Kenny and Trevor the 2 partners of Weymouth Sailing. The 3rd boat is a 36 foot version named Teazer and owned by Richard Salt.
They are well proven and robust cruising yachts. Their fractional rig combined with moderate displacement and easily driven hull contribute to good speed under sail and easy handling by expert and novice alike. They make an ideal sailing school yacht because they use all the skills of sailing but, at the same time, gives a feeling of strength and security to those beginning their interest.
Accommodation on the 33's consists of two cabins (forecabin with 2 berths, main cabin 4 berths) together with separate area containing toilet and washbasin.
Accommodation on the 36 consists of two cabins (aft cabin is a double, main cabin has 4 berths and there are a further 2 berths forward) together with separate area containing toilet and washbasin.
